Idrija was known for lace production as well as mercury.

for Tito's wife by the people of Idrija.
Terry looking at one of the children's books written by a famous Slovene author,
France Bevk (1890-1970). One of his famous novels was Father Martin Cedermac, the
story of an Italian-Slovene Priest struggle against Fascists. The author was from near
Idrija. His wife gave his library with furnishing to the museum after he died.
On to Kobarid, where there is a museum of WWI battles described in
Hemingway's Farewell to Arms.
