I have been working in Scientific Library of Riga Technical University more then 20 years. I'm a Head of Bibliographic and Information Department. I graduated from Philological Faculty of Latvian State University. My responsibilities are: management of Bibligraphic Department, providing different references and consultations on all requested subjecrs for library users, assistance in searching of information in card and electronic catalogue, organisation of Internet class.

I'm very glad to be in ICIMSS.

Libraries in the whole world are going through social, technical and cultural changes. In the industrialized world of today information play an important role for all users of technical libraries. I see that the requests of customers are changing from year to year, the level of knowledge and skills of young generation is growing.

Every day reference librarian have to answer to many questions connected with computers use, Internet tools and modern technologies. It is very difficult to manage all this applications without special learning and workshops.

I hope that courses in ICIMSS will be very interesting and useful for us, because I have a great opportunity to up-date my knowledge and skills.
