Hello,

Our world--and libraries as a part--changes very quickly.

Librarians have the opportunity to establish a more vital role as information professionals. The future will require new services and new skills to develop them. I think that ICIMSS is an institution which links the present with the future. The school gave me an opportunity to up-date my knowledge and skills. ICIMSS curriculum helps librarians to redefine our role as reference professionals. We learn a lot about modern technology, finances, management, evaluation of information and other new trends in information world.

The great advantage is that our module leaders are well-known specialists. They share their knowledge and skills with us and help us to solve some problems.

During residential sessions we have an occasion discussing together and exchange our experiences. It is interesting because we live in different countries. We are in touch each other (not only during sessions in Torun) because we established a discussion list on Internet.

And what remains as a background to our studies is - Torun. Torun is very beautiful town, which in December 1997 was nominated to be included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
